WADIS - MAR

Technical meetings /field  surveys

Agronomical activities:Field trips were carried out to identify agronomic demonstrative intervention sites. Sites with different issues were visited. These sites represent the main crops grown with different farming and irrigation systems in the region and bringing together the various problems that farmers are suffering. Date palms and greenhouses vegetable crops and cereals are the main practiced cultivations.

Artificial aquifer recharge:Finalization of the design (including the final costs estimation, the materials selection, the topographic survey) of the artificial aquifer recharge intervention

Implemented 18-25 January, 2014

WADIS - MAR

Agreement

Signature of agreement between ITDAS and ANRH. ITDAS, through the project will care of:

•Providing sites at farm level for the implementation of agronomical activites;

•Giving help to buy all needed equipments (irrigation material, fertilizers, seeds, plastic etc )

•Giving support to engage the chamber of agriculture and farmers  in participatory and learning events of the Project
Implemented 19 January  2014

Artificial aquifer recharge intervention design

A proposal for the artificial groundwater recharge for the infero-flux aquifer in the Oued Biskra was developed. Upon discussion and sharing with partners, intervention areas were also selected. The artificial recharge systems so defined, includes recharge basins, vadose-zone wells, also called dry wells, and recharge tranches for the intervention. The outputs of this activity consist of technical designs (CAD format) of the recharge systems and technical reports

Implemented October - November 2013
