The SWIM Support Mechanism and the five Demonstration projects have actively participated in the 1^st CIGR Inter-Regional Conference on Land and Water Challenges that took place on 10-14 September 2013 in Bari – Italy and was attended by more than 170 participants from 39 countries (from Africa, North and South America, Asia and Europe).

The short SWIM video recently produced introduced to participants the overall SWIM Programme while each project presented its preliminary achievements through power point presentations and a poster.

The Conference was organized jointly by the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) and CIHEAM (International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies) – Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (IAMB).

The proceedings of the Conference contain printed copies of abstracts and electronic copies of full papers among which six have been submitted by the SWIM projects.
